LCAC Scholarship

Purpose:  To provide tuition assistance to students pursuing a degree at the college level. First consideration will be given to students pursuing a degree in the Arts. Students with sufficient evidence of participation in the Arts throughout their high school career, will also be considered.

For the purpose of this scholarship, Arts are defined as vocal and instrumental music, music education, performance, music theory, composition, art, art history, arts education, creative writing, drama, theatre, stage management, film studies, dance, photography, graphic design, costume design, architecture, interior design, digital animation, sound design video production, and interactive digital design.

Eligibility:  Applicants must be high school seniors residing in Lawrence County.  Colleges must be accredited educational institutions.

Awards:  The awards are based on artistic promise.  Applications will be reviewed by a committee from The Lawrence County Arts Council, and this committee has sole discretion in choosing the winner.  The Arts Council reserves the right to distribute no funding if there are insufficient applicants or the applicants do not meet standards of acceptability as judged by the appointed review committee.  Students receiving scholarships will be required to give the Arts Council a copy of their acceptance letter before the check is issued. Rebecca N. Wilson Memorial Scholarship

Purpose: To provide tuition assistance to students pursuing a degree at the college level. First consideration will be given to students pursuing a degree in the Arts. Students with sufficient evidence of participation in the Arts throughout their high school career, will also be considered. For the purpose of this scholarship, Arts are defined as vocal and instrumental music, music education, performance, music theory, composition, art, art history, arts education, creative writing, drama, theatre, stage management, film studies, dance, photography, graphic design, costume design, architecture, interior design, digital animation, sound design, video production, and interactive digital design.

Eligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors residing in Lawrence County.

The committee reserves the right to distribute no funding if there are insufficient applicants or the applicants do not meet standards of acceptability as judged by the appointed review committee.

Application Procedure: The form below must be fully completed and accompanied by the required statement from the student and letter(s) of support. Submissions may be received via hard copy or e-mail.
